Events Dept.

Bring the joy of reading to our school! Coordinate with the book fair supplier, help with marketing, organize volunteers, and run this fun week-long event. Most prep is from home; coordinators are needed on campus during fair week. Ideally shared by two or more people.

Lead the effort to celebrate our amazing staff! Plan and coordinate monthly luncheons and the big Staff Appreciation Week in May. Most prep is from home, with a bigger time commitment (about 15 hours) in May.

Help foster community by organizing casual coffee chats with our principal. Publicize the events, set up coffee (donated or purchased), and provide supplies. About five times a year, 1.5 hours each, on campus.
Enrichment Dept.

Work with the librarian, principal, and PTO team to bring authors to our school. Promote the visit, coordinate book sales, and help run the assembly and signing. About 5–15 hours per year; most work can be done from home.

Partner with the principal to research, book, and coordinate all-school assemblies. Handle outreach, scheduling, promotion, and day-of details. About 5–15 hours per year; most work can be done from home.

Help bring engaging STEAM programs to our school! Research and recommend options, coordinate approvals and contracts, handle communications, and support program logistics. About 20–30 hours per year; work can be done from home.

Represent the Green Team at PTO meetings by sharing updates and activities, and helping connect sustainability efforts with the school community.
Fundraising Dept.

Help bring in extra funding for our school! Research grant opportunities, assess fit, and prepare applications with PTO officers. About 2–3 hours per month; can be done from home.

Lead a small team to coordinate the Live and Silent Auctions at Crabfeed (and possibly other events). Oversee class projects, parent-hosted parties, and teacher experiences. About 40 hours, mainly Nov–Jan; work is mostly from home with onsite support for setup and prize distribution.

Help boost PTO funds at no cost to families! Research and manage store donation programs, sign up the PTO, and create simple marketing to encourage participation. About 10 hours per year; can be done from home.
Marketing Dept.

Keep our community connected! Post updates on Coleman’s Facebook and Instagram accounts, and help moderate the parent Facebook group.

Maintain and update the PTO website! Write and post content, create graphics, manage pages, and handle inquiries. About 1 hour per week, with more time before major events. Can be done from home.

Manage PTO communications on ParentSquare by drafting, proofreading, and sending scheduled and ad-hoc updates on behalf of the PTO.

Keep PTO bulletin boards fresh and up to date with current news and announcements. About 2–4 hours per month; requires being on campus.
